FAQs
Can I prepare this salad ahead of time?
Since the fruit takes time to marinate, you can easily make this recipe ahead of time. Just make sure to allow 30 minutes for the fruit to marinate and soak up the flavor of the dressing. The fruit can then be strained and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Can I use frozen fruit in this recipe?
We do not recommend using frozen fruit in this recipe as the fruit is generally sweetened or too soft when thawed. Fresh fruit is key to getting the most out of the flavor, texture, and nutritional value!
Can I substitute burrata with another cheese?
Yes, if you don’t have burrata, you can substitute it with fresh mozzarella or goat cheese. Both will provide a creamy texture that pairs well with the sweet fruit and tangy dressing.
What can I use instead of pistachios?
If you have a nut allergy or simply prefer a different topping, you can use roasted sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. These will still add a satisfying crunch to the salad.
How do I store leftovers?
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It’s best to store the fruit and cheese separately from the toasted bread to prevent it from becoming soggy. Leftovers can be enjoyed within 1-2 days.
